Other health and safety guidelines will be in place for fall on-site programs, with new details to be shared via email and on this website.
Dear Professional and Continuing Education Student,
As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and implement safeguards to protect the health and wellbeing of our University of Delaware community, the University is requiring all students who will be on UD campuses this fall to be fully immunized against COVID-19 before their arrival to campus, and no later than Aug. 15, 2021. This requirement, announced by President Assanis on May 5, includes professional and continuing education noncredit, continuing education non-degree, and Graduate College non-degree students as well as Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) members and instructors.
This requirement does not apply to students or OLLI members/instructors who will only participate in online classes. Exemptions will be accommodated for students who cannot receive a COVID-19 vaccine for medical or religious reasons.
The University encourages students and OLLI members/instructors who are not yet vaccinated to do so as soon as possible to advance our goal for approaching UD community immunity and reducing the risk of infection. Are OLLI members, instructors, and guests required to be vaccinated against COVID-19?
Any OLLI member or instructor who will be on UD campuses (including OLLI campuses in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties) or who will be attending OLLI classes/events at off-campus locations in fall 2021 must be fully immunized against COVID-19. Exemptions will be accommodated for OLLI members and instructors who cannot receive a COVID-19 vaccine for medical or religious reasons. Approved OLLI guests are not required to be fully immunized against COVID-19, but we strongly encourage vaccinations for all guests.
How do I provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination?
OLLI members and instructors who will be on UD campuses–including OLLI campuses in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties–in fall 2021 must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

I am not able to upload a document online. Will there be an opportunity for me to present my vaccination card in person?
We will provide additional information to OLLI members regarding in-person events in July to help them upload their proof of vaccine to the Student Health Services portal. Updates and plans for vaccination verification events will be available as soon as possible.
How do I request an exemption from COVID-19 vaccination?
Exemptions will be accommodated for OLLI members who cannot receive a COVID-19 vaccine for medical or religious reasons.

Can I attend classes virtually and join in-person after my 2-week post-vaccination waiting period?
OLLI members can virtually attend classes that are offered online without being fully immunized against COVID-19. OLLI members are welcome to join in-person classes after submitting proof of full vaccination.
If I am diagnosed with COVID-19 during the session can I get a refund?
Refunds for OLLI membership and class fees are approved in some instances, generally involving member life events that preclude them from continuing as a participant in the program.
