The University of Delaware’s Institute for Public Administration (IPA) has published The Current Role and Future Opportunities for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (7-pg. PDF), a policy brief examining the role of UD’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) program in Delaware’s aging landscape, developed in support of OLLI’s strategic planning efforts.

Prepared by Emma Knapp, IPA Public Administration Fellow, and Julia O’Hanlon, IPA Lead Policy Scientist, the policy brief highlights the older adults who make up Delaware’s fastest-growing age demographic, focusing on the implications and opportunities for programs like OLLI to better serve this community.

“It was a privilege for OLLI to partner with UD IPA, and to benefit from their observations and analysis surrounding our mission to serve adults age 50+ in Delaware and beyond,” said UD OLLI Director Karen Asenavage Loptes.

“Also, this collaboration underscores the value of intergenerational research opportunities here at UD,” added Asenavage Loptes. “We are excited to dig deeper into IPA’s recommendations as we continue to champion and expand UD’s lifelong learning program across Delaware.”

UD’s Institute for Public Administration (IPA) is a research center within the UD’s Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration, which leads public service programs and research projects that improve the quality of life for all Delawareans.
