OLLI Dover program moves to new classroom location

OLLI Dover classes to meet at Wyoming Church this fall

The OLLI Dover program is moving to a new Dover classroom location beginning this fall, with classes held at Wyoming Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, Del. 19904. OLLI Dover’s program support staff will be located in Lewes where they will join forces with the staff of OLLI Lewes/Ocean View, 520 Dupont Avenue, Lewes. The Wyoming Church classroom location will not include an OLLI administrative office.

The program’s move will take place between OLLI Dover’s summer and fall semesters.

June 28—OLLI program’s last day at College Business Park location

  • Last day of classes and final office hours at the program’s College Business Park location. That location’s phone number has been discontinued.
  • As of June 28, all OLLI Dover administrative and program support is conducted through the OLLI Lewes office, 520 Dupont Ave., Lewes, DE 19958, 302-645-4111, LLL-dover@udel.edu.

July 23—Open House at Wyoming Church

  • Open House, Walk-in Registration and ID Photo Session, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Wyoming Church, Dover
  • Visit our new classroom location at Wyoming Church and learn more about the OLLI Dover program.

August 21—Instructor Orientation at Wyoming Church

September 4—First day of classes at Wyoming Church

The upcoming fall semester features nearly 40 established and new courses on a variety of topics. Course highlights include:

  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Fraud Issues Impacting Seniors
  • Genealogy Research
  • Great Women in American Life
  • Life and Legacy of Robert F. Kennedy
  • History of the Texas Rangers
  • Hamilton: The Man and the Musical
  • How to Look at and Appreciate Museum Art—featuring visits to Dover’s Biggs Museum of American Art

A weekly speaker series includes presentations on Irish life and culture by the Irish Society of Delmarva, a Martin Luther King Jr. tribute and veterans’ stories.

Take classes in Dover, Lewes and Ocean View!

New to the OLLI programs in Kent and Sussex Counties this year is the flexibility for participants to sign up for an unlimited number of classes at any of the programs’ locations in Dover, Lewes or Ocean View. OLLI students join either the OLLI Dover or the OLLI Lewes/Ocean View program as their primary location, and then sign up for unlimited classes regardless of location.
