Everyone read The Great Gatsby in high school, but how many have re-read it with the benefit of decades of life experience? We’ll undertake a “close reading” of Fitzgerald’s novel, asking questions that might not have occurred to us back in high school. We’ll also read and discuss some of Fitzgerald’s short stories that explore the “before” and “after” of the characters (albeit with different names) and some scholarly articles about the novel.
This offering meets for a total of 11 session(s).
