Creating Better Musical Arrangements (CP285)

CA – Performing Arts (Appreciation)

Prerequisite: Intermediate or advanced performing skills. Some people are prolific songwriters that constantly develop new ideas, while others write the same song over and over again. Well-developed song arrangements keep songs fresh and inviting for the listener. These songs build familiarity so people remember them and add distinctive surprises so they don’t tire of them. This workshop is about using musical forms and techniques to enhance songs, while providing inspiration and aiding creative development.

INSTRUCTOR: Terry Merriman

MERRIMAN, TERRY — Working musician and singer/songwriter for five decades who writes for guitar and keyboards. As a member of the Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance for over two decades, has led workshops on songwriting as well as advanced techniques on guitar and keyboard. (CP285)
