PLUMBING SHAKESPEARE’S IMAGINATION (H370)

H – Literature

Truth is stranger than fiction, and Shakespeare’s imagination is stranger than both, delving into the depths of what it is. We’ll explore the imaginative choices and dilemmas that express the imagination of humanism in Shakespeare’s works. Instructor provides weekly reading assignments one week in advance of class, including links for reading the assigned works online. We will follow our noses and sniff out the truffle-like answers and morsels of discovery!

INSTRUCTOR: Russell Endo

ENDO, RUSS — Trained in poetry with Etheridge Knight in the Free People’s Poetry Workshop of Philadelphia (Etheridge called him Little Brother). His first poem, Susumu, My Name, became the basis of a jazz composition by Sumi Tonooka that appeared on PBS.
