Each week, a picture book on a historic topic will be shared by the instructor, followed by discussion of the event or topic in greater detail. Participants are not required to purchase or read the following books which will be explored this semester: When Beavers Flew by Kristen Tracy, Random House Studio, 2024; The House Before Falling in the Sea by Ann Suk Wang, Dial, 2024; The Pig War by Emma Bland Smith, Calkins Creek, 2020; Lost Words by Leila Boukarim, Chronicle Books, 2024; and Do You Know Them? by Shana Keller, Atheneum 2024.
