G – History

This class examines the leadership of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy. Those presidents possessed high values and steered America through troubled times that included the Civil War, World War II and the Cuban Missile Crisis. They consistently placed the interests of their country above politics and had the ability to unite the American people behind common goals and aspirations.

INSTRUCTOR: Charles Errico

ERRICO, CHARLES — Ph.D., American history, University of Maryland. Retired recently as a professor at Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University. His book, Portrait of America, is required reading at numerous universities. He has won a number of teaching awards and, in 2007, was named an outstanding professor in Virginia where he had the opportunity to meet the Queen of England who was in Williamsburg celebrating the 400th anniversary of Jamestown.
