The nation is poised for a pivotal midterm election, a battle for control of Congress and a referendum on the current administration. The election punctuates a tumultuous era in American politics, marked by a nearly successful insurrection, dismantling of longstanding political party and congressional roles, unprecedented upheaval in American government, challenges to Constitutional precedents, and profound effects on campaigns and media. NOTE: Course necessarily includes some political content.

BEGLEITER, RALPH — M.S., journalism, Columbia University; B.A., political science, Brown University. Former CNN world affairs correspondent (1981-1999) and professor of communication at the University of Delaware (1999-2017) and founding director of UD’s Center for Political Communication.
