Reconstruction: The Conflict Following the Civil War (G480)

G – History

Graphic of Delaware with Sussex County Highlighted

Lewes (Trinity Faith Education Building) | July 8, 2025-July 29, 2025

Tuesday: 9:00 AM-10:15 AM

The years 1865 thru 1877 are referred to in American history as the era of reconstruction. However, this period is better defined by destruction, violence, corruption and terror in the defeated south. The centerpiece reference is the prize-winning book, I saw Death coming. This class explores this period and its significant constitutional amendments in an effort to shed light on the struggles and events still unfolding in today’s America.

This offering meets for a total of 4 session(s).
