INTERMEDIATE CHESS CLUB (X257)

X – Extracurricular

During the first half of the class, attendees will play games against each other and keep score utilizing algebraic chess notation. During the second half of the class the instructor will review the games played and discuss how the players could have improved their play. The instructor will also review the chess openings played in all of the games.

INSTRUCTOR: Jim Rizzitano

RIZZITANO, JIM — International Chess Master who has coached and trained players of all skill levels, from beginners to masters. A respected and successful player, he holds numerous tournament titles, including the 1980 U.S. Open Speed Championship, and he is a two-time New England Open Champion and four-time Massachusetts Open Champion. Author of seven books from Gambit Publications, such as 1001 Deadly Chess Tactics (2024) and Modern Chess Opening Repertoire for White (2021).
