Let’s Workshop Our Writing! (K224)

K – Writing

Prerequisite: Time to write outside of class. Please bring your nonfiction piece (four pages or less) to the first class, where workshop guidelines and etiquette are reviewed. Students share their nonfiction writing (poem/prose, essay, memoir, literary journalism, creative nonfiction and academic works) and offer, kind, considerate, helpful and constructive critiques and comments. Discussions focus on developing great opening sentences and story arc, finding one’s voice, and creating a piece that educates and resonates with the reader.
