CA – Performing Arts Appreciation

Part 1 of a comprehensive, two-semester course covering the symphony’s evolution from its preclassical origins to the 20th century. Professor Robert Greenberg discusses how the genre came into existence, and how the format, scope, structure and context of symphonies have changed with time. Each 45-minute DVD lecture is followed by additional examples.
