In this course, participants will read and discuss short stories in French. Class discussions will provide opportunities to strengthen communicative skills and develop greater mastery of the French phonetic system. As a culminating activity, participants will create and share their own original short stories.

INSTRUCTORS: Alice Cataldi, Susan Watkins
CATALDI, ALICE — Learned French as a first language at the Pensionnat Saint Joseph in Jaffa, Israel. In the U.S., she received a bachelor’s in English and French, master’s in French and pedagogy from the University of Connecticut, and post-graduate studies in linguistics at UD. The French government recognized her as a Chevalier (Knight) in the Academic Palms. (O23)
WATKINS, SUSAN — M.S., nursing, Rutgers University. Retired registered nurse with a wide range of interests including tai chi, history, music, literature and theatre. Loves to research new subjects and find innovative ways to present the material. (G493, G495, O324)
