Participants explore and discuss the following poems by Robert Frost: Desert Places, At Woodward’s Gardens, Neither Out Far nor in Deep, The Wood-Pile and Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening as well as Pigeon Feathers, a short story by John Updike. These two American ironists plumb experiences of profound spiritual crisis to deeply curious effect. Please read At Woodward’s Gardens and Neither Out Far nor in Deep in preparation for our first class meeting.
