Are your trees and shrubs prepared for winter? We will cover the following questions and topics. How do I protect my trees and shrubs from winter damage? Coverings, anti-desiccants, heeling in, and proper watering. Is fall the best time to prune my trees and shrubs? How do I properly prune my shrubs and trees? Can I transplant a shrub or tree in the fall? Is there an optimal time to transplant? Is the fall fertilizing of my trees and shrubs beneficial to their long-term health? Feed the soil and not the trees and shrubs: what does that mean? Most importantly: proper planting and horticultural practices are easier than you think.

INSTRUCTOR: John Ockasi
OCKASI, JOHN — John Ockasi is an ISA certified arborist who has been caring for trees since 1983. He has his Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) accreditation and is a graduate from the American Society of Consulting Arborists. He specializes in diagnosing both cultural and environmental problems with trees and shrubs and is a strong proponent of organic practices.
