This course provides participants with the needed information on the WHY, WHEN, and HOW about disaster preparedness for people living in the Sussex County coastal areas. Participants will be provided background on current weather conditions/events and will receive resources and examples of how to shelter in place and to prepare for an evacuation. Emphasis will be given in a light-hearted manner to the importance of individualized preparations for implementing disaster preparedness planning.

EMBREY, MARY LOUISE — President of MLE Consulting, LLC. Following a distinguished 35-year career in federal service—primarily in public health and justice programs—she has spent the past 14 years as a consultant specializing in healthcare and community improvement initiatives. Serves on the board of the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays, advisory committee for Service Dogs Saving Lives, AARP Delaware Executive Council, and Bethany Beach Board of License Adjustment (BBLA). Also serves as executive director of a property owners association in the Town of Bethany Beach.
