SPANISH NEXT LEVEL: STUDENT-LED CONVERSATIONS (O337)

O – Languages

Prerequisite: Advanced-intermediate level of Spanish. This course will be student-driven and led. Each student chooses a topic, such as art or music, a country, or an issue and lead the class in a discussion of the chosen theme. The student will suggest resources for class members to read or listen to in advance of class. The classes will be conducted in Spanish and emphasizes speaking Spanish. The co-instructors will function as coordinators and send out email messages as to the themes and resources to all class members.

INSTRUCTORS: Sheila Hochhauser, Susan Kaye

HOCHHAUSER, SHEILA — Recently became a citizen of Spain due to family background. Throughout childhood, family spoke an old form of Spanish called Ladino. Studied Spanish in secondary school and in earnest at OLLI since 2019. Recently returned from intensive Spanish classes in Malaga, Spain. Retired lawyer and judge.

KAYE, SUSAN — Retired pathologist. Studied Spanish in high school, at University of Delaware from 2019-2021 and at OLLI since 2021.
