Part 2 of this class continues to explore the Delaware Continental Regiment, discussing the “battle buddies” that led their respective companies through 32 battles over eight years of war, with the expertise of Delaware historians. We learn more about who endured the many difficulties and hardships on the path to victory. The Delaware Regiment had a hard-earned reputation for “punching far above its weight.” Join us as we learn about these ordinary people coping with extraordinary circumstances.

JELICH, ELIZABETH — Earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Delaware. Deep Delaware roots instilled a love of early American history. During teaching career, her classroom mission was to make history come alive and instill in her students a lifelong love of history. (G493)
WATKINS, SUSAN — M.S., nursing, Rutgers University. Retired registered nurse with a wide range of interests including tai chi, history, music, literature and theatre. Loves to research new subjects and find innovative ways to present the material. (G493, G495, O324)
