This class covers how to quiet the mind and reset through breathwork and meditation. Participants learn about the neurobiology of our brain and the impact on our emotions. We will learn breathing techniques to help quiet the mind and allow the body to enter a state of rest and digest. We will also learn and practice meditation/mindfulness techniques. These techniques can be used on a daily basis to help calm our body and reduce anxiety and nervousness.

INSTRUCTOR: Cathy Jacobsen
JACOBSEN, CATHY — Cathy is a meditation teacher and qigong practitioner who has been practicing meditation/breathwork and qigong for the last several years. The practices have brought a sense of calm and balance in her life and she would like to share that experience with others. She is a licensed mental health counselor and has her own private practice; she is also retired from law enforcement and has worked for Veterans Yoga Project helping first responders and veterans with similar practices such as yoga and meditation.
