OPEN MIC & LIVE KARAOKE FUN (CP307)

CP – Performing Arts Participation

Prerequisite: Desire to sing solo, without judgement, just sing! Singers of all levels — did you ever dream of singing in front of a live band? We will have a house band performing music for open mic opportunities by all of our students. Sing from memory or use music sheets which will be emailed out prior to each week’s class. We are also working on offering the old classic karaoke machine so some can sing the way it’s done at some of the local establishments. Submissions of songs will occur as the semester rocks and rolls along. Join us!

INSTRUCTORS: Dennie Mah, Robert Darling, Robert Moyer

MAH, DENNIE — BSChE (1971), MSChE (1973), Northeastern University. Retired DuPont chemical engineer in fluids and flexibles, textile fibers, petrochemicals, research and development, fuel cells, bioscience, agriculture, engineering and fluorochemicals. Played guitar in high school and college garage bands, rock climbing, SCUBA, travel and photography.

DARLING, ROBERT — Drove city bus in Milwaukee for 32 years. Performed in many rock bands. Attended Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Taught guitar for years. Assisted my wife with Children’s Liturgy of the Word classes at St. Matthias in Milwaukee.

MOYER, ROBERT — Semi-retired project engineer/manager in the food and pharma manufacturing and packaging industry. Love time with grandchildren who live nearby. In retirement, enjoying the love of music through playing guitar and singing in bands and at OLLI. Also co-instructor for OLLI Rock Band.
