Thursday: 12:45 PM-2:30 PM

Join us for an immersive sensory tasting exploration of wines of the Mid-Atlantic’s most celebrated vineyards. This course bridges the gap between the coastal plains of Delaware and the historic terroir of Chester County, Pennsylvania. Participants will learn the fundamentals of cool-climate viticulture, the art of “Old World” vs. “New World” styles, and the science of local food pairing.

Additional fee: $30 to cover cost of food and beverages.

LOPTES, ARUN — Educated in India and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Masterfully repurposes woods and metals into art collectibles with a focus on American flags and Americana. Transforms acquaintances into friends. (SE336)

ASENAVAGE, KAREN — B.S., biology/chemistry, Messiah College; grades 9-12 biology and chemistry and all-grade ESL certification; M.A., TESOL, Ball State University; Ph.D., organizational leadership and higher education, Eastern University. (SE336)

MAKARUCHA, WALTER — Recently retired financial advisor with an interest in wine and winemaking. Level I sommelier, New York Institute of Wine at the World Trade Center; member, Benvenuto Restaurant Wine Club; winemaker, Grape Expectations, Bridgewater, N.J. Other interests include motorsports, singing, improv comedy and travel. Aims to make wine accessible and enjoyable for everyone! (SE336, SE338)
