BEGINNER PASTEL DRAWING AND PAINTING (B378)

B – Fine Arts

Prerequisite: Some art experience. Required text: Pastel Workbook, Jackie Simmonds, ISBN:0-7153-1340-1. Students learn basic pastel techniques through a series of brief lectures and hands-on lessons using the required workbook and materials provided. Each of five lessons will introduce materials and their care, mark making, landscape, still life, and toned paper techniques. Students who have never used pastels come away with basic exposure to the medium and an appreciation for the beauty of this form of artistic expression. Finished works are not the goal. Some art experience preferred.

Shares lifelong enthusiasm for all things visual, including watercolor, pastel and clay classes at OLLI. Collector of garage sale treasures and cool art works.
