This presentation is aimed at providing a framework and key concepts for assessing the quality of healthcare provided by hospitals and physicians. Credible sources of publicly available data regarding the quality of performance associated with area providers will be reviewed. A demonstration of how to make use of the information in selecting a provider will be included in the session.

CALDAS, JAMES — Retired following a 40 year career in healthcare leadership. Career highlights include serving as the chief operating officer at ChristianaCare for 15 years before assuming the position of president of the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. Teaching experiences includes adjunct faculty and guest lecturer roles at Columbia University, Georgetown University, Arcadia University and University of Delaware.
