In this course we will review the uniquely human anatomy related to walking. First, we will explore the evolutionary questions of when and why our ancestors became two-legged walkers. Next, we’ll talk about the consequences of this adaptation for our modern-day risks of injury such as lower back pain, knee problems, and more. Finally, we’ll talk about the value of walking for our health and well-being. The class will combine lecture, hands-on learning, and walking practice – as ability permits.
This offering meets for a total of 5 session(s).
