Each session explores one common medical term and its origin, meaning, history and impact on a person’s health. As a result, members should be better informed about the vocabulary and disease processes they may hear from their healthcare professional, the media or online and be better able to distinguish between evidence-based information and misinformation, and empowered to take charge of their own health with safer and wiser decisions.

When registering, sign up for the section meeting Tuesdays at Arsht Hall, Wilmington; or Mondays at 850 Library Avenue, Newark.

INSTRUCTOR: Hisham Sherif

SHERIF, HISHAM — Retired surgeon with 30+ years of clinical and research experience in cardiovascular medicine and surgery. Strong advocate of better education and awareness of healthcare information as the basis for better decisions toward improved individual and community health.
