This class explores a city with a vibrant Jewish life and unique Jewish history. Yes, New Orleans! Covering Jewish life from New Orleans’ earliest days and the Civil War to present day, the instructor shares where Jews have lived and worked and the Jewish impact on jazz, Mardi Gras and Creole food. The class explains how Jewish immigrants to New Orleans are like those in other cities and ways they are not.
