SURVEY OF BOOKMAKING TECHNIQUES AT THE ART STUDIO (B386)

B – Fine Arts

Additional Fee: Please note that this course requires an additional fee of $140. Participants receive a payment link from OLLI prior to the first class. There is also an additional $45 material fee due to the instructor at the first class. Explore a variety of bookbinding techniques. From origami books to stab binding loose pages with decorative stitching to binding a series of signatures with and without exposed stitching. Each style will start simple and build complexity in subsequent classes. Students leave with a finished book in each class. Offered in partnership with The New Castle County Art Studio, located at 310 Kiamensi Road, Wilmington, DE 19804. Please note additional fees mentioned above.

INSTRUCTORS: Katherine LeCocq, Nicole Sexton

LeCOCQ, KATHERINE — Work ranges from the whimsical and playful to staid and evocative representations of the natural world. Painting and drawing since she was a child, her work is rendered in media that include acrylic, pen and ink, charcoal, and watercolor and ranges in size from artist trading cards to full murals. Has exhibited her work throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Originally from Seattle, is now based in Wilmington after graduating from Rutgers University’s distinguished Mason Gross School of Fine Arts.
