ZOO TRIP: PRIMATE BEHAVIOR (P289)

Tuesday: 9:00 AM-10:15 AM

Additional fee: Participants responsible for transportation and zoo admission for one class visit to the Philadelphia Zoo. In this course we learn about the zoological family of primates, and the methods used to study primate social behavior. The course includes a field trip to the Philadelphia Zoo where we visit the primate exhibits; each student records original observations of primate behavior using instructor provided data collection forms. We reconvene in weeks 4 and 5 to discuss the trip and share the results of our observations of primate behavior. Zoo entry fee and transportation costs covered by students.

ROCKWELL, CHRISTIE — Ph.D., anthropology, University of California, Davis; emerita professor, Temple University. I have lifelong interests in evolutionary biology, paleoanthropology and primates; now exploring Buddhist teachings. Mother of two lovely girls and married to an amazing jazz enthusiast.
