BAND: BEGINNING PLAYERS LEVEL 1 (CP313)

CP – Performing Arts Participation

Prerequisite: Must have your own instrument. Required Text: Bruce Pearson’s Standard of Excellence Book 1 for your instrument. Playing an instrument is fun and excellent for physical and cognitive health. This class is for beginning band instruments (flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone/euphonium, tuba, drums). String instruments have their own classes. People who have played before should take BAND: BEGINNING PLAYERS LEVEL 2 and/or BAND: INTERMEDIATE PLAYERS. Contact the instructor for help in deciding what class is most appropriate and how to obtain an instrument and the music.

ZIMMERMAN, STEVE — B.M., music education, University of Delaware (1979). Taught instrumental music before changing careers to IT. Able to teach all wind instruments and percussion. Also conducts OLLI Orchestra and String Ensemble.
